On the 3rd of September 1995, Anthony Daly lead his Clare team to victory over Offaly, and thus ended their 81 years of hurt.
Offaly were reigning All Ireland champions, and were one of the top teams at the time. Clare had just won their first Munster in 63 years.
The odds were stacked against Clare from the off. Offaly had the lead for most of the match, until Eamonn Taaffe pounced on a loose ball in the square and put Clare in front with only minutes remaining.
They held on to the lead, and finally got their hands on the Liam McCarthy cup after 81 years of hurt
